Roadmap Explanation

If you've arrived at this page, this roadmap, then you must be interested in learning English! You probably want to improve your English level.

How long have you been trying to learn?

Did you just start or have you been trying to learn English for years?

I wonder what your "blocker" is... What is the thing preventing you from improving? Is it just that you haven't spent enough time with the language yet, or maybe you just don't know the best way to learn English? Maybe you ARE improving, but you want to improve faster and with less frustration.

This roadmap and the English Tea Break website are built to help you learn English.

Hi, I'm Jake. I'm a professional English teacher, and I've taught hundreds of students around the world. But I will NOT teach you English.

Trust me, you don't need me or any other English teachers.

Instead of teaching you English, I'll teach you the fastest, most enjoyable method for learning English. I'll teach you the method, not the language. You won't need to do any grammar drills and you won't need an English textbook.

In fact, you won't need to purchase anything at all. The English Tea Break Method for learning languages is completely free.

How much money in total have you spent trying to learn English? Think of the teachers you've had in school, the tutors you might have paid for, and the money spent on apps and textbooks.

Here, you won't need to pay for anything at all. You can learn a language for free. How do I know? I've done it! But I'll tell you about my story later.

Paying for language courses is unnecessary. Teachers and tutors are too expensive.

The average tutoring session on iTalki costs $25-30 USD per hour. If you do one lesson per week, you'd have to pay a tutor $1,300 USD for only 52 hours of practice! That's way too expensive for way too little in return.

So keep your money! I'll show you how to learn much faster and you won't need to pay me or anyone else.

But I won't be your teacher. You don't need one. If your English level has plateaued—if you're not making progress anymore—or if you're making very slow progress with boring or frustrating methods, you need to make a change. You need a better method.

Have you taken an English course in school? How helpful was it for you? When you finished the course, were you fluent in English? Probably not...

I'm an American. I took Spanish classes for two years and learned almost nothing. For most people, school is a pretty terrible way to learn a language.

Welcome to the English Tea Break Method roadmap. I'll start by explaining how this tool works.

What is a Roadmap?

This roadmap is a framework. It's a plan. A strategy. A blueprint. The roadmap will help you build structure into your English education, which will allow you to learn in the most efficient way possible.

It's a very different style of learning a foreign language. It's going to require you to keep an open mind and have some patience. But I can guarantee that you'll be successful with this method. If you follow this roadmap, you will become fluent in English. I'm going to be teaching you exactly what I did to learn a foreign language.

If you're like me, you value your time; it's precious and important. If you're going to be studying a language, you don't want to waste your time on ineffective methods.

I'm sure you have some kind of goal in mind. You probably have an idea of the level of English that you want to reach. And you probably want to get there as fast as possible. That's what this roadmap will help you do.

Let's Get Started

If you're reading this, you've arrived at the starting point. This is where you should begin.

By reading through the articles in this roadmap, you'll learn the most effective way to learn English or any other language. You will save yourself time, money, and frustration.

I recommend reading the articles in the correct order. There's a lot to explain and jumping ahead might cause you to miss some important information.

For Intermediate and Advanced English Learners: I still recommend working through the roadmap in the correct order. I'll tell you within each article which parts are okay to skip.

I've done my best to design this roadmap in a way that builds upon itself. We'll start by creating the foundation on which we can build the knowledge that you'll need to truly get as much value as you can from the method.

Ready the change the way you think about language learning? Let's go!
